Connexus Church Orillia officially opened its doors on Sunday with a grand opening event where hundreds of attendees gathered to celebrate the launch.

The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by special guests including Orillia Mayor Don McIsaac, Member of Parliament Adam Chambers and many others involved in the design and construction process. A special congratulatory scroll was presented in the absence of MPP Jill Dunlop, who expressed her best wishes for Connexus Orillia’s success.

After 17 years of meeting in a rented portable facility, Connexus is excited to welcome the Orillia community to this permanent space designed to inspire connection, growth, and faith. Guests were offered cake, a tour of the facility and an introduction to the services Connexus Orillia offers.

“We are excited to officially open our doors to the Orillia community and share this space with them,” says lead pastor Jeff Brodie. “Today is not just about celebrating a new field; A center where people from all walks of life can find a place to belong. We have always said that God is for you and so should your church, and this new facility helps us live that out in an even bigger way. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone and show them what we’re all about.”

Throughout the morning, hundreds of people from the Orillia area gathered to join in the festivities, marking a successful and vibrant start to Connexus Orillia’s commitment to being a church you can belong to, even if you’re not sure you believe yet.
