Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts could potentially see each other in the playoffs; The Bills currently sit in 2nd place in the AFC, while the Colts sit just outside the playoff picture. This matchup will be a repeat of Week 10, when Buffalo heads west for Indy this Sunday at 1 p.m. Here are five keys for Buffalo to extend its winning streak to five games in the Hoosier State.

Joe Flacc

The Colts rank 29th in ESPN’s pass block win rate metric, winning just 51% of their pass attempts. This was on 2023 Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly’s roster. He was placed on injured reserve this week. With 37-year-old Joe Flacco at center, the Bills attacking up the middle could take him out of position and be an advantageous game plan for Buffalo.

Jonathan Taylo

It’s been almost three years since the Bills played against Jonathan Taylor, and I think he scored again. The last time Buffalo played against the All-Pro, he threw for five total touchdowns and over 200 yards of offense. Taylor had a productive performance in the 2024 season, which was affected by injuries, rushing 105 times for 502 yards and five touchdowns. It’s okay for Buffalo to give up yards on the ground game, but you can’t let him become Derrick Henry 2.0.

Indianapolis Colt

The Bills entered Week 10 tied for second in the NFL with the fewest draws by just four points. Buffalo is better than Indianapolis on paper, so it’s a four-point road favorite. One thing that can counteract this is passing the ball to others; It’s something the Colts are very good at. They are tied for fourth-most with the Bills with 15 points. Don’t let this statistic sway in Indy’s favor.

DeForest Buckne

DeForest Buckner missed five games for the Colts this year, and the front end took a hit during that span. You can think of his return like an ace joining the pitching staff: your No. 1 becomes 2, your No. 2 becomes 3, and so on. They all play better when they are not the focal point of the opposing front. The Bills need to figure out how to deal with him. He has 3.5 sacks and seven quarterback hits in three games this year. The biggest key is determining where you line up before shooting. This season, he has played 62 times at left guard, 28 at right guard and 26 at each of the defensive end spots.

This may be more of an instinctive thing than what science supports. Josh Allen hasn’t played any of his Superman takeover style plays this year. Yes, he had two rushing touchdowns against Arizona in Week 1, but he was on nine carries for 39 yards. I’m talking 10+ rushes for 100+ yards and at least one touchdown. The last time the Colts faced a prolific dual-threat quarterback in Lamar Jackson was last year, and they allowed him to pass for 101 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. If the aforementioned Buckner and his team get too far down the field and open up offensive lanes, Allen may have his day.
