INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating a suspicious death.

The discovery was made around 2:26 p.m. Wednesday in the 6100 block of 65th Street near Vero Beach.

Deputies say a woman was found dead on the side of the road.

The cause of death is still under investigation.

WPTV’s Ethan Stein spoke with resident Debbie Votzi and she said the road was closed and there were numerous police cars before.

“It’s really scary because most of us women are walking this path,” she said. “So it’s scary to think there’s someone out there now.”

Deputies said they were also investigating another death Wednesday. Deputies said this incident also involved Kevin Markey, who was reported missing a few days ago. to mail on Facebook. It was stated that the incident was investigated, but there was no suspicion of intent.
