Democratic presidential candidates generally lose in U.S. elections when they receive less than about 64% of the Latino vote, according to data from NBC’s exit poll cited by Scripps News.

According to Scripps News, in 2024, Donald Trump received 45 percent of the Latino vote, while Kamala Harris received 53 percent.

In an election that saw dramatic changes in the weeks and months leading up to Election Day, Hispanic voters have become a deciding factor in the 2024 presidential election. This bloc helped Trump to victory and return for a second term in the White House.

Harris’s slight majority in this bloc was well below Joe Biden’s Four years ago there was a 33 point difference there.

An October survey by the Hispanic Federation, a nonprofit organization, and the Latino Victory Fund, a self-described progressive organization, found that 64% of Latino voters in battleground states reported contacting campaigns and Latino civic organizations to promote their vote.
