Guava Family is recalling approximately 8,500 Roam strollers because the stroller’s brakes may fail to engage or disengage unexpectedly, posing a fall and injury hazard to children.

The company received 67 reports of brake lock disengagement. The company also received 152 reports of the brake pedal not engaging when pressed down. No injuries were reported.

This recall covers Guava Roam First Generation three-wheel foldable strollers manufactured between July 2020 and December 2021. Strollers are “first generation” if they have a production date between July 2020 and December 2021.

They have a black frame with the “Guava” logo in gray on the frame. The seat, canopy and storage compartment are black. The strollers are approximately 39 inches long, 25 inches wide, and 43 inches high and weigh approximately 28.5 pounds.

The black label on the crossbar under the seat reads “Guava Family Inc.” There is an inscription. Includes Roam model name, model number and production date. Only First Generation strollers with production dates between July 2020 and December 2021 are included in the recall.

The strollers were sold online at www.guavafamily.com and www.babylist.com from August 2020 to October 2023 for between $500 and $550.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact Guava Family for instructions on how to sign up for the free repair kit and new installation instructions.
