District 2 and District 4 incumbents Chito Vela and Vanessa Fuentes retained their seats in a landslide.

In the 6th District, incumbent Mackenzie Kelly lost her seat to Krista Laine.

Kelly was known for advocating for public safety. He released a statement about X:

“I’m really proud of what we accomplished, but this time we failed. Thank you to everyone who supported us. I will continue to fight for our society because we are all warriors. Just because we were defeated today doesn’t change that.” This means we are heading into the future!”

Laine shared his thoughts.

“I really hope that we can stop viewing a city council member as a conservative or liberal voice and instead focus on core city services. A lot of what we’re seeing in the elections today is a hunger to get things done,” he said.

He says he understands the unique challenges of his district, which sits near the line between Travis and Williamson counties.

“It’s really important to find some ways to improve 911 response time for critical emergencies. Better reliability of utilities, both power and keeping the lights on, as well as water and wastewater, as well as safer streets,” he said.

District 7’s top two challengers, Mike Siegel and Gary Blesdoe, received less than 50 percent of the vote and will face each other in a runoff election in December.

Marc Duchen narrowly won the 10th District seat.

Newly elected council members will begin their new terms in January.
