Kobe, Nov. 7 (Jiji Press)–A 45-year-old prisoner serving an indefinite prison sentence for killing a girl in western Japan’s Okayama Prefecture in 2004 was arrested Thursday in a case in which another girl was stabbed. He was seriously injured in 2006 in neighboring Hyogo Prefecture.

Hyogo prefectural police arrested inmate Kunihiko Katsuta on suspicion of attempted murder, according to investigative sources.

Police are looking for evidence as Katsuta also insinuated that he was involved in the 2007 murder of a 7-year-old girl in Kakogawa, Hyogo city.

In the 2006 case, a fourth-grade primary school girl was stabbed in the chest and other parts of the school at around 18.20 on September 18, while she was walking home from a private teaching institution in Tatsuno city. Oct. 28, 2006. Police are seeking information about the incident after releasing security camera footage of a man near the scene of the stabbing about a minute after the incident.

Meanwhile, on October 16, 2007, Yuzuki Unose was stabbed in the left chest with a knife in front of her home in Kakogawa. In total, the police station assigned approximately 54,200 investigators to this case and probably received approximately 560 information reports related to the case.
