Woman Demands Charges Against Georgia’s Colbie Young Dismissed

Earlier in the college football season, Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young was indefinitely suspended from the team on charges of assault and battery on an unborn child, according to Athens Clarke-County jail records. Young left at 4:18 a.m. His bond was set at $2,500. ESPN’s Mark Shclabach reported Wednesday He said the woman wanted the charges against Young dropped.

In an affidavit released Wednesday by Young’s attorney, Kim Stephens, the woman said the police report was “slanted and did not accurately portray what happened on October 8.”
In her statement, the woman said, “I went to Colbie’s house late at night and talked to her about our relationship and my pregnancy.” “Colbie asked me to leave more than once while I was there. I didn’t leave until I felt sorry for her and didn’t think our conversation was productive.”
“Colbie did not put his hands on me in any inappropriate or unwanted way during the conversation or argument. He did not hit me. He did not push me. He did not leave me with any bruises or marks. He did not injure me in any way.”

Young transferred from Miami last summer and contributed to the Bulldogs’ offense this season. The Hurricanes had 930 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns in two seasons with Young. He racked up 149 yards on 11 receptions and two touchdowns for Georgia this season.
