One person died in a morning crash on Highway 21 in Algoma Township

TOWN OF ALGOMA, Wis. (WBAY) – One person is dead after a two-car crash in Algoma Township.

Just before 6 a.m., the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and the Algoma Township and Oshkosh Fire Departments responded to State Highway 21 and Leonard Point Road for a report of a crash involving two cars.

It was determined that one of the drivers died at the scene. Their identities are being kept secret until the family is notified.

The other driver, who was slightly injured, was treated in nearby hospitals.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team, Drone Unit, and Winnebago County Medical Examiner’s Office.

State Highway 21 was reopened at around 10.30 after being closed for approximately 4.5 hours.
