Syracuse, NY — A 32-year-old woman attacked her boyfriend Monday morning, then went to work and He took the students to an elementary school in Syracuse, police said.

Zakia Hill, 32, was charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, according to Syracuse police spokesman Kieran Coffey.

Around 7:53 Monday morning, Syracuse police officers responded to the 100 block of Grumbach Avenue for a stabbing complaint, Coffey said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 36-year-old man with cuts to his head, left shoulder, left leg and right hand, Coffey said. He said the victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Hill fled the scene before police arrived, Coffey said.

Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said the man was Hill’s “estranged” boyfriend.

Coffey said Hill went to Dr. Hill around 9:20 a.m. He said he was arrested at Edwin E. Weeks Elementary School.

Coffey said Hill worked for a transportation company that provided transportation to students. After the attack that morning, he drove the students to the elementary school in his Dodge Caravan. She was also driving the minibus with her child in her arms, he said.

Hill was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center and released after a preliminary hearing, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tom Newton said.
