FRANKLIN, NC (FOX Carolina) – Franklin police say a custom cross a mother erected in memory of her son after his death was stolen.

According to officers, Ryan Hayman’s mother had a special cross made after he was killed in a car crash involving a drunk driver in 2016.

Police said a cross was erected at the scene of the death on Depot Street in Hayman’s memory and to remind drivers not to drive after drinking alcohol.

Officers reported Wednesday that the cross was stolen from the crash scene.
