A TV presenter and actor has died aged 39, leaving his family “devastated”. Chauncy Glover, a familiar face in KCAL-CBS news, tragically passed away on Tuesday, November 5, and the cause of his untimely death is not yet known.

His family issued a heartbreaking statement expressing their deep sorrow, writing: “We, Sherry and Robert Glover, along with Chauncy’s beloved family, are devastated by the unimaginable loss of our beloved Chauncy.”

They remembered him fondly as more than a family member, saying: “He was more than a son and brother; he was a beacon of light in our lives and a true hero to his community.”

The three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist recently started a new chapter in Los Angeles, joining KCAL-CBS as an anchor in September 2023 after leaving her successful tenure at ABC13 in Houston.

His impressive career also included a three-year stint at WDIV in Detroit and a two-year stint in Jacksonville, Florida.

Glover’s television journey began as a reporter in Columbus, Georgia, after graduating from Troy University in Alabama with a degree in journalism.

In 2014, he founded the Chauncey Glover Project, an effective year-round mentoring and college readiness program for Black and Hispanic young men.

His family added: “Chauncy’s compassion and determination to help others, especially through the Chauncy Glover Project, changed countless lives and inspired many young men to follow their dreams. His talent, warmth and vision left an impression on everyone who knew him.” .and the world is duller without it.”

The family expressed their grief: “As we grieve this profound loss, we are comforted by the outpouring of love and memories shared by those who knew Chauncy as a passionate, talented soul,” and asked for privacy, adding: “As we mourn and honor his incredible legacy, please request privacy He was taken from us too soon, but his impact will be felt forever.”

Glover was a prolific actor who, among his other talents, appeared on stage in numerous amateur dramatic plays.

Tributes began to pour in for the late star, with one writing: “Shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Chauncy Glover’s passing. Heartbroken for his colleagues @kcalnews. You will be sorely missed.”

The second wrote: “To be young, talented, and Black. Chauncey Glover you will be missed so much. Baby when I tell you I support you. I can’t believe how broken I feel right now. Praying for your family.”

Another added: “Mentor!!!! I grew up in a program with you. You have changed my life so much in the last 7 years. Why yayyyyyy. I love you Chauncy. You have done so much for me in the CGP program. Relax You have made such a huge impact on my life.”

Echoing this, a fourth person shared: “I was so shocked and saddened to hear that #ChauncyGlover had passed away. You will be missed by your friends and colleagues at #kcalnews.”
