Election 2024: Who won the NJ House races?

With one race drawing most of the attention with major national implications, all of New Jersey’s 12 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for a vote on September 12. Tuesday’s elections.

Democrats entered the day with nine of the seats in the largely blue Garden State. They were determined to keep at least most of them, with the incumbents or the incumbent party winning or leading in all races.

But Republicans were poised to win the biggest battle of all: the 7th District, home to freshman Republican Rep. Tom Kean Jr. declared victory a tight race against democrat Sue Altmanadmitting defeat. It was a contest that was expected to help determine which party would control the lower house of Congress next year. But the Associated Press had not declared the winner late Tuesday night.

REGION 1

REGION 2

REGION 7

The AP had not officially called the race as of 11:30 p.m.; With 90% of the votes counted, Kean had a lead over Altman by nearly 6 percentage points.

REGION 8

Freshman Democratic Representative Rob Menendez He won a second term in this North Jersey district, defeating Republican Anthony Valdes.

9th REGION

Democratic state Sen. Nellie Pou was narrowly leading Republican Billy Prempeh to win the seat long vacated by Democratic Rep. Bill Pascrell. died in August.
