Five Kentucky residents are behind bars for allegedly trapping a 2-year-old boy in a caged area of ​​their home filled with feces and urine, according to police.

Authorities found the naked toddler trapped behind a padlocked metal and wood enclosure inside the Carrollton home after authorities received a tip of a possible caged child belonging to the Carrollton Police Department, the Carrollton Police Department said. he said in a news release.

The room where the deranged suspects allegedly held the child was covered in urine and feces, according to a criminal complaint obtained by McClatchy News.

Police said two more children were removed from the home in the 700 block of 7th Street by the Department of Health and Family Services following the disturbing discovery.

Police did not specify the relationships between the adults and the children.

Brenda Chilton, 71, William Mahoney, 72, Codey Johnson, 29, Tammy Simmons, 52, and Shelby Turocy, 28, were arrested and charged with criminal harassment and wanton endangerment.

Turocy is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The unstable suspects are being held in the Carroll County Detention Center while police continue to investigate.
