Once the polls close in Michigan, results for the 2024 General Election are expected to be announced fairly quickly.

Michigan voters will be able to vote in person at their local precincts anytime on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Some polling stations in the western part of the Upper Peninsula do not close until 9 p.m. Eastern time.

When will the winners be announced?

Results are expected much earlier than in the 2020 election due to updates to vote counting laws in Michigan.

Detroit is expected to report all votes by midnight, while the rest of the state is expected to complete all vote counting by the end of the day Wednesday at the latest.

This means most major races could be called by Wednesday morning.
