ATLANTA – One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting near Morehouse College on election day.

Officers were called Tuesday afternoon to a gas station at the corner of Sells Avenue SW and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard SW, across from Harvey Stadium on the Morehouse College campus.

One person was taken to an area hospital in critical condition but died, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

The second person was awake, conscious and breathing.

The circumstances surrounding the conflict are being investigated.

The names and ages of the two people shot have not been released, and there is no indication they were related to anyone at the Atlanta University Center.
