MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Marlboro County deputies arrested two men who tried to deliver contraband to inmates via drone on Tuesday.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections said deputies quickly arrested the couple after the drone was detected and the package was dropped off at Evans Correctional Institution in Bennettsville.

Marcus Maurice Cooper, 34, and Tauraz Marquel Ancrum, 26, both of North Charleston, are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to provide and distribute contraband to inmates.

The seized package contained marijuana, mobile phone, charger, tobacco, cigarette paper, cigar, lighter, digital scale, headphones, iPad, GPS monitor and batteries.
