Aaron Allen is Ranallo’s bandmate and good friend.

“We immediately started talking about what we could do to help them, and the benefit showed up,” he said.

Ranallo is a guitarist who plays in five different local bands. He is still hospitalized due to the serious injuries he received a week ago in the accident that killed his fiancée, Chelsea Cook.

“The lack of response was challenging,” Allen said. “We’re trying to do the best we can right now. You can dwell on it now, or you can try to make things better. We’re trying to make things better, too.”

The musician community is planning a charity event to support Ranallo’s physical and emotional recovery.

“All of us, everyone that Evan has been in these groups with,” Allen said. “We’re all trying to find different ways and things we can do to benefit on December 14th.”

A music benefit performance is planned for Dec. 14 at O’Shea’s Bar and Grill in Hurst.

“The flow right now has been incredible. There are people offering to auction things, sending us things,” Allen said. “There are people we see all the time who help, but there are also people we’ve never met before. Like, ‘I don’t know Evan, but I want to help. ‘I know Chelsea, but I want to help.’ “So we thought, this is something we can do to help cover the bills and cover whatever we can.”
