PHOENIX — A man was stabbed to death Sunday evening near 16th Avenue and Indian School Road, Phoenix police said.

Police officers were first called to a gas station in the area around 18:00 on the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found an injured man in his early 30s.

The man, whose name was not disclosed, died in the hospital where he was taken.

Witnesses told police that the suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The suspect was not located.
