The Simpsons It’s back with the latest Horror installment in the long-running “Treehouse of Horror” tradition, and “Treehouse of Horror XXXV” features stories that share a new perspective. While these giant monsters destroy the town, Professor Frink, together with the brother team needed for this, builds a machine that unites the two sides. Once the original elections are over, Bart and Lisa are thrown into the Pacific Rim as Jaeger, eventually working together to defeat the monsters. Combining their various beliefs, the two decide to tackle the larger issues at hand. Bart and Lisa try to get everyone to think outside their echo chambers, but it isn’t long before the monsters wreak havoc on the town again and ruin the society forever. It’s not a very scary start, so unfortunately it’s a bad start to the year. Often such basic, popular culture-based stories are passed along among others.

The Fall of the Monty Dynasty

However, the second part of the episode fares much better. “The Fall of the House of Monty” is nothing like its namesake, Edgar Allen Poe. Fall of the House of Usher poem (though there is a cameo from Bart Raven, who was first seen in “Treehouse of Terror”). It’s a period piece entry that imagines a Springfield where everyone works tirelessly for Mr. Burns. They work in a corn syrup factory during the day and build their mansion at night. On Thanksgiving, Mr. Burns offers his workers a feast only if they can beat him at breaking the wishbone.

Naturally this doesn’t work, but Mr. Burns keeps dinner away from them either way. When he loses, Burns is told that he will be cursed by the wishbone for breaking his promise, and he soon realizes what this means. When all of his workers die gruesome deaths in the factory, their ghosts haunt Mr. Burns at night. When they don’t stop, he goes crazy and decides to commit suicide by throwing himself into the fire (but goes to Hell immediately afterwards). This second episode goes by pretty quickly, but it’s much better than the first.

“The Fall of the House of Monty” has grim-looking character designs for Homer and the other dead worker ghosts, and the idea of ​​Burns burning himself alive and then being dragged to Hell is suitably gruesome. This is the kind of episode where Treehouse of Horror truly excels because it’s the only time characters can be killed off in such a big way. Here’s hoping things will end strong after the first two episodes. So did that happen? However, mileage will vary.

Jeans

The last of the three parts was: The Simpsons He had been excited all summer. The studio behind it is working with Stoopid Buddy Studios Robot Chicken and more, this short imagines a world where Homer is single and needs help impressing Marge, the lovely waitress at the nearby (hilariously named “Non-Canonical”) Diner. While out shopping for trousers, a pair of stop motion jeans appear from a mysterious portal and Homer finds them very comfortable. As they head towards the diner, the jeans move on their own, saving Marge from being robbed by Snake.

The jeans reveal that their name is “Denim” and that they are actually a symbiote from another planet (Wranglor in the 501 Galaxy) who are eaten by acid in the rain… they all make acid washed jeans (which means they are “thin”), ugly…dated”). They need human hosts to survive, and Homer’s wide hips and gas make him a perfect fit. The two eventually reach the point where Homer has a full-blown relationship with Marge. But things go south when Marge tries to wash the jeans. Homer decides to stay with Jeans after stopping him from killing Marge, which soon leads to the other symbiotes taking over Earth.

The final episode was really saved for last due to the action involving stop-motion, and it’s really cool to see that in the episode itself. But because you are one Poison The parody is a bit lackluster in this effect. Homer never gets the full transformation his image in promotional materials suggests because these jeans always remain jeans. There’s a great chase scene that gets the jeans moving in a fun way, and Homer flailing around when this happens is a fun visual. But it never goes as far as you hope.

Is Treehouse of Horror XXXV any good?

The material means this isn’t exactly a horror-focused story, but it doesn’t make up for that with tons of laughs either. Unfortunately that’s the case with “Treehouse of Horror “Denim” has the best shot in this regard because of its central gimmick, but it doesn’t go as far as you’d hope for the latest Treehouse of Horror episode.

But this year it seems The Simpsons Still willing to try any ideas for Treehouse of Horror specials. Some of them have been pretty lackluster in the past, and while that’s far from the best, XXXV is also far from the softest offerings in the catalogue..
