It’s very common in Hollywood for movie/TV actors to not get along, but that wasn’t the case for the actors in the Harry Potter film series. Matthew Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom, talked about the friendly dynamic between the actors.

Lewis He talked about it during the film series’ solo panel at Rhode Island Comic Con on Sunday, November 3. According to People magazine, the actor talked about his belief in why the series’ young cast doesn’t face challenges in the public eye like many former child actors.

At first he joked that they were very good at hiding all these stories. The actor later described it as “difficult” as he transitioned from being a child actor to becoming an adult in the industry. He added that there was a lot of “concern” about when he might “hack” into the big pool.

Lewis added: “But I was very excited about the possibility. My attention span is pretty short, so I probably never chose a real career.” He shared that 10 years after Harry Potter, he was ready to move on to something else and wasn’t looking for something that would lead to multiple series.

He expressed that he had no idea what was next for him after working on the fan-favorite series, saying he was “not prepared at all.” The actor made sure to mention that his “friendships” with his fellow young actors from Harry Potter helped ground him.

The Me Before You star spoke about the challenges of being a child actor when asked about the challenges they seemingly avoided, saying she would “argue that was largely because we were all together.”

He shared that many times we come across stories about them being the only actors in the movie, having to bear the heavy burden in the movie on their own, and all the stress and anxiety that comes with it, but in the case of Harry Potter, it was them too. it was all together.

“So many of the fears we all had were common, and that’s no longer true for anyone in the world. They’ll never understand what we’re going through and how it affects our personal lives outside of each other,” the actor said.

He said it has been incredible and enjoyable to work with these individuals over the years. He stated that one of the things he took with him was these “friendships”. Lewis said he didn’t go back and read these books, and the only thing he was able to hold on to were the “relationships” they formed throughout these projects.
