Jaguars’ controversial goal

CBS rules expert Gene Steratore and the broadcast team were stunned when the replay team allowed the Jaguars to score and the score to stand as a touchdown.

The broadcast team said Barkley must have gone down as a result of contact because he was tripped by Ventrell Miller before falling to the ground and losing the ball.

“I was a little surprised, like you,” Steratore said. “I know he hit Ventrell Miller in the calf and if you watch you see Saquon stepping, it looks like a teammate. Even though they think that’s what caused Saquon to stumble, you still have some contact from one step to the next, I was going the way you were going , that contact in that place and then a stumble would have knocked him out because we know the ground can’t cause mayhem.”

The goal helped the Jaguars get within one point of the Eagles in the third quarter and was their second goal in just 14 seconds.

I was from Harrisburg when I was a kid, the house I lived in was about an hour and 20 minutes from the stadium and as a kid I wanted to be an Eagle and now I’m in Eagles Hall of Fame. You can’t make up for that.”
