MIFFLIN VILLAGE, Ohio (WOIO) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol says alcohol and speed were factors in a serious crash Saturday night that sent two teenagers and a 3-year-old child to the hospital.

At approximately 10:46 p.m., a 2014 Hyundai Veloster was traveling west on Maine Street when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to a statement from OSHP.

Mifflin Fire and EMS transported the 17-year-old driver to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

According to the statement, there were minor injuries.

The passenger, 18-year-old Lakisha Hall of Mansfield, was taken to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries, according to OSHP.

Mifflin Fire and EMS took Hall’s 3-year-old daughter to the hospital with minor injuries.

All three passengers in the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time, OSHP said.

While this crash is still under investigation, OSHP said alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
