GARDENA, California. – The search continues for the suspect who shot and killed a man at a Gardena restaurant.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday night at the Salvimex Restaurant in the 18100 block of Vermont Boulevard.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was sitting in the restaurant when the suspect, aged between 35 and 40, who was also in the restaurant, walked up to him and shot him, authorities said.

The victim died at the scene.

Police have not confirmed claims that the restaurant also houses an illegal casino.

The suspect fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle.

It is unknown whether the suspect and the victim knew each other.
