CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Dugout Café’s first ‘Community Giving Back’ event was held Saturday in Chicopee.

It was exactly as said. From 16:00 to 19:00, the bar collected donations for various charities and treated customers to live music.

Although it’s the first such event held at the cafe, general manager Jordan Benoit said he wants it to become a tradition. “This is a first, and it’s going to happen every year. We’re going to do something like this for the holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s – and we pick a good time before Thanksgiving, everyone is nicer to each other,” he explained.

Donations will be used to assist Hurricanes Helene and Milton, as well as other charities such as Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen and the Salvation Army.
