US President Joe Biden harshly criticized Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his supporters in a speech in Pennsylvania on Saturday, saying they were “the kind of people you would slap.”

The outgoing US president criticized Trump and his supporters while speaking in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and suggested he would hit back at fake “macho men”.

“There’s one more thing Trump and his Republican friends want to do. They want a huge tax cut for the rich,” Biden said in a speech to a carpenters union.

“I know some of you tend to think of them as macho guys. I’ll tell you this, man, when I was in Scranton, we would have a little trouble getting into a plot every once in a while. Those are the types of guys whose ass you want to shoot,” Biden added.

Biden’s statement caused harsh comments from people on social media.

Responding to the statement, an X user said, “Biden has officially endorsed Trump. He continues to hurt Kamala’s campaign.”

“Joe hangs out with Tim too much,” another X user said.

The US presidential elections will be held on November 5, with Democratic leader Kamala Harris challenging her Republican counterpart and former President Donald Trump.

The two leaders also appeared on various TV and radio programs in the last leg of the poll campaign in order to attract voters.

According to CNN’s latest public opinion poll; Both Harris and Trump are in a close contest for the popular vote in most battleground states.
