Don’t worry What will happen after November 5?? For a believer, this looks a lot like November 4th. Pray. Love. Trust.

Pray. Maybe you’re not sure how you should pray. Everything seems so confusing, so angry, so exhausting. Here are two topics to consider for your conversations with God.

THERE ARE NUMBERS IN THIS GROUP THAT WILL DECIDE THE US PRESIDENT – IF IT HAPPENS

Let’s raise our nation up. We are a family with much shared history and an important future. Ask God to humble us, hear us, and heal us. It may seem empty, but remember; The power is not in him who prays, but in God who hears.

And let’s ask God to help our neighbors, and let that help start with us. Pray for compassion to reach the single mother across the hall at work and the single mother trapped in the nursing home. Pray for hope for those still trying to recover from the storms; Whether these storms are called by name, Helene or Miltondivorce or chronic illness. May God bring the healing balm of hope.

And pray for your neighbors with whom you disagree. Yes, even the ones that make you angry. The quickest way to extinguish the fire of anger is to pray a bucketful. Pray instead of blaming. Jesus did this. While hanging on the cross, he prayed for his enemies: “Father, forgive them; they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34 MSG).

We never become more like Jesus when we pray for others—those you agree with and those you disagree with. Pray for this hurting world. God takes care of everything.

Love. Love isn’t exactly the slogan of the day. Argument, yes. Anxiety, of course. Fear is our constant companion. But love seems insufficient.

Let’s check our source. This anxious world is no place to look for unwavering love. Instead, let us turn our gaze to the gracious God whose love will never fail. Governments will fail but God’s love will endure. Crowns are temporary but love is eternal. Your money runs out, but his love never runs out.

May God love you. And let it help you share that love with others. Now stop for a moment and make a list of three people you can show your love to today; quietly, simply and unconditionally. I promise you that that offering of love will return to you in unexpected ways and your heart’s hope meter will rise like the morning sun.

And finally, trust. It’s hard, I know. There are so many unknowns and what we do know is worrying. These are troubling times full of challenges both at home and abroad. Leadership is important. But whether your preferred candidate occupies the White House or not, we know that God is in charge of who will be in charge. Proverbs states that the heart of a king in the hand of the Lord is like a stream of water; He directs him wherever he wishes (Proverbs 21:1).

CHRISTIANS SHOULD STOP BELIEVING THESE ‘LETHS’ ABOUT INTERVENING IN POLITICS, RELIGIOUS LEADER SAYS

May I suggest that we lift our eyes and change our thoughts? we can face the problems of this world focusing on the promises of the next. The future isn’t so scary if you know the future. And you can know the future when you know who controls it.

One of my favorite sermon illustration books features the story of a missionary and his son. They moved from England to Central Africa with four other adults. Three of them died. When his father’s health began to fail, he decided to return to England.

He and his son traveled around Africa for days in an old, broken-down wagon. Once on shore, they set out by sea for England. Within a few hours they encountered a severe storm. The waves and wind came together to make cannon noise and shake the ship from stem to stern. During a time when the storm was calm, the father hugged his son and warmed him.

Then the child said, “Father, when will we have a house that cannot be shaken?” he asked.

I can’t vouch for the story. There is no source in the book. But I can definitely vouch for this question. I asked this. You asked this. Every person has felt this world with its troubles and shocks and said, “Oh my God, when will we have a home that will not be shaken?” he asked.

The answer? “Soon, my dear child. Very soon.”

This world is so wrongIt will be on the right. People who are rejected in this life will be respected in the next life. In this era they were enslaved and sold; from now on they will rule and reign. In this era, they were disabled and sick; They will serve with perfect and exalted bodies in the afterlife.
