Worried You Won’t Get Value From Your Costco Membership? Here’s Why You Should Participate Anyway

Many shoppers join warehouse clubs like Costco to access members-only deals. Getting discounts when purchasing groceries, clothes, household goods and electronics can be a win for your wallet. But you have to pay to join Costco.

If you’re on the fence about joining, I encourage you to become a member to experience the experience firsthand. I’ll also share a few tips for maximizing your Costco membership and explain why it’s worth joining even if you’re not sure if you’ll benefit.

Costco’s 100% satisfaction guarantee

Subscriptions and membership costs can add up quickly. If you’re considering becoming a Costco member but are worried about shelling out for another membership, don’t let the cost scare you.

From where? Costco has a 100% membership satisfaction guarantee. If you decide to cancel your membership, the seller will refund your membership fees. Warehouse Club is worth joining if you want to check out what the retailer has to offer.

You’ll probably be pleased with the deals and variety of products and services Costco offers. However, you can feel safe knowing that if you are not satisfied, you can cancel your membership and get your money back.

I too was a skeptic for a long time, but I gave in and joined last August. I’ve been a Costco member for over two months and have yet to set foot in my local club. But I’ve already shopped a few deals on Costco.com. These were all purchases I was planning to make anyway and I saved on them.

Here’s how much it pays to become a Costco member

Now that you know about Costco’s membership guarantee, you may wonder how much you can expect to pay to join. Costco has two membership options and their costs vary.

The annual fee for a standard Gold Star membership is $65. The retailer’s premium membership option, Executive, costs $130 annually. The biggest benefit of being an executive member is the ability to earn 2% rewards on eligible Costco purchases, including Costco Travel bookings. As an executive member, you can earn up to $1,250 in annual rewards.

For those who spend at least $3,250 a year at Costco, the Executive membership is worth it. With this annual spend, you’ll earn $65 back in rewards, allowing you to avoid the additional cost of a premium membership. Customers who spend even more will earn enough rewards to cover the extra membership cost, plus get some of their money back.
