A Montgomery County woman’s boyfriend was arrested after she was found dead from a fatal blow to the head

A woman died in Montgomery County and police arrested her boyfriend in connection with her death.

Authorities said a 911 caller early Saturday morning notified Perkiomen Township that a woman may have been killed at an apartment on Gravel Pike.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene and found 34-year-old Jessica Zipkin dead at the scene. He suffered a fatal wound to the back of his head, troopers said. PSP found a hammer nearby.

The Montgomery County medical examiner ruled her death a homicide, according to authorities.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Pennsylvania State Police Capt. Gerard B. McShea announced that 46-year-old William Carey has been arrested and charged with Zipkin’s murder.

Carey is charged with First Degree Murder, Third Degree Murder and Possession of a Criminal Instrument. He was arraigned and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail. Authorities said there is no bail for the First Degree Murder charges.
