NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Three teenagers suspected of armed robbery were arrested Friday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Detectives spotted the trio, 17-year-olds Marvin Cruz and David Hminghlu and 16-year-old Davi Ortega, in a stolen Chevrolet Camaro on Linbar Drive, police said. MNPD said the car was stolen outside a convenience store on Old Hickory Boulevard during a carjacking early Friday morning.

Before attempting to stop the vehicle, police entered an apartment complex on Linbar Drive, where the group robbed two people at gunpoint, MNPD said.

They then tried to escape in the Camaro and police deployed spike strips. Police said an MNPD helicopter followed the car until three people exited the vehicle.

All three were caught and arrested, and police seized a gun.

They were each charged with aggravated robbery in juvenile court.
