Kali Heaton dead, Joshua Carr airlifted after Blount County crash

LOCUST FORK, Ala. (WAFF) – A woman died and a Marshall County man was rescued by plane after a crash in Blount County on Friday, authorities said.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), a two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 79 in Locust Fork near mile marker 26 around 7:33 p.m.

Authorities said a 2010 Mazda 3 driven by Kali M. Heaton, 31, of Remlap collided head-on with a 2023 Ford Ranger driven by Joshua Cory Dean Carr, 44, of Arab.

Heaton was pronounced dead at the scene, ALEA said.

Carr was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The incident continues to be investigated by ALEA.
