Colorado star Travis Hunter reflects on his busy schedule on ‘College GameDay’ and ‘Big Noon Kickoff’

Unfortunately for college football fans, Heisman hopefuls Travis Hunter won’t play this week due to Colorado’s bye.

However, he made up for his absence on the airways by appearing on both big pre-game shows on Saturday morning; here he detailed the ins and outs of living as a student-athlete in today’s turbulent, NIL-supported NCAA football environment.

Hunter spoke to the panelists ESPN’s “College Game Day” and FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” ahead of No. 3 Penn State’s marquee matchup with No. 4 Ohio State in Happy Valley. Now a member of the Big 12, this game could very well serve as a scouting opportunity for the dual-threat receiver-cornerback to take on two teams he could potentially take on in the postseason.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Colorado star’s busy schedule during pregame appearances in Pennsylvania.

Hunter’s first cameo came on the FOX set; where host Matt Leinart asked what a “typical day a week” looks like for him in preparation for Saturday. The 21-year-old gave a candid response, outlining a typical training morning in his life.

  • 5:15 a.m. — Go to school, undergo treatment and education
  • 7:15 a.m. — First encounter with cinema
  • 8:50 a.m. — Get on the field for training

Apart from that, Hunter stated that he continues to treat, recover, and watch movies, and tries to “spend at least 10 hours” alone each week.

ESPN College Game Day

He then headed to the ESPN desk, where he had a brief discussion with legendary Alabama coach and analyst Nick Saban. He asked Hunter how he prepares to play on both sides of the ball each week as a member of Colorado’s secondary and receiving corps.

“I’m trying to shoot at least 10 hours of film, not counting what we did at school,” he repeated. “You’ve got to watch a lot of film, and you’ve got to be at full speed when you’re training. Nobody can stop you, so Coach Prime is trying to stop me every day I’m there, and I’m not going to let him.” …I play 100 percent no matter who is in front of me.”
