Hunter added that he practices at “full speed” and doesn’t let anyone stop him, even though head coach Deion Sanders tries to rein him in at times.

Hunter, 21, is the most unique player in FBS college football, operating as a winger and cornerback on both sides of the ball and regularly taking over 100 snaps per game.

Hunter, who burst onto the scene last season after his transfer from Jackson State, performed even better this season and became involved in the Heisman Trophy discussions.

Appearing in all eight games for the 6-2, 23rd-ranked Buffaloes, Hunter leads the Big 12 in both receptions (60) and receiving yards (eight) and has also racked up 757 receiving yards.

In addition, Hunter was a force on defense, recording 14 tackles, two interceptions, and seven passes defensed, leading to a defensive-leading 12.

It remains to be seen how Hunter will be deployed once he reaches the NFL, but his skillset and versatility make him a strong candidate with the potential to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

It’s uncommon for players to play both ways in the NFL, but depending on his preparation and practice habits, he could be a candidate with the ability to buck the trends and see at least some action on both offense and defense at the next level.
