1 person dead, 1 injured in shooting attack in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Mich. (WNDU) – One person was killed and another was injured in an overnight shooting in Eau Claire.

Deputies were called to the intersection of Main Street and Elm Street just before 12:45 p.m.

When they arrived, they said they found two male victims. One of them remained unresponsive and suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

While both victims were taken to hospital, one of them later died. This victim has not been identified at this time.

Police said they were able to quickly identify the suspect with the help of witnesses. This person was taken into custody and is being held in the Berrien County Jail on various charges.

The suspect will not be identified until his arraignment, according to police.
