Three people were arrested and two women were rescued in the brothel investigation

Three people have been arrested and two suspected human trafficking victims rescued after police raided a property in south Belfast.

Three suspects, two men aged 42 and 41 and a 39-year-old woman, were detained on suspicion of crimes such as running a brothel and controlling prostitution, following a search in the Annadale Embankment area on Friday night.

Police said the two rescued women were offered specialist support.

Some money was also seized during the searches.

Three suspected firearms were seized during a follow-up search at a property in the Newtownards Road area of ​​east Belfast.

The suspects remained in custody Saturday afternoon.
