Police say 13-year-old girl found stabbed on the side of the road was known to her attackers | UK News

A 13-year-old girl who was stabbed yesterday morning was known to her attackers, Humberside Police said.

The six teenagers are still being questioned by detectives and the girl remained in hospital following the attack at around 6.50am on Friday morning.

Police added that the girl’s condition was “critical but stable” with stab wounds on her neck, abdomen, chest and back.

The six teenagers, including four boys aged 14, 15, 16 and 17 and two girls aged 14 and 15, were found and rescued yesterday in a wooded area near the scene of the crime off the A63 motorway in Hessle. arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

They continue to be questioned.

Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers, who is leading the investigation, said: “My team has been carrying out extensive inquiries over the last 24 hours to establish exactly why this incident occurred and to understand the circumstances that led to the 13-year-old attacks. – The elderly girl remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

“As part of yesterday’s investigations, a large crime scene cordon was deployed around woodland on Ferriby High Road as well as an area where the young girl was assisted by members of the public on the A63, Hessle. “These cordons have now been removed.

“I can confirm that the attackers were aware that the 13-year-old girl and six other teenagers were currently in custody and being questioned by detectives.”
