Paramount Is Still Considering How to Handle Task: The Impossible 8

The road so far Mission: Impossible – Deadly Showdown (before Part One) was a bit challenging, after all delays caused by the pandemic and others. Things were equally worrisome for the sequel; So much so that Paramount is both ready to get it out the door and trying to figure out how to market it to audiences around the world…beyond the big Tom Cruise gig, of course.

on friday, Hollywood Reporter It turns out Cruise is hoping to follow up his 1990 racing failure Days of Thunder from the ground. Paramount also hopes to bring Mission: Impossible 8 It’s at Cannes next year ahead of its release on May 23, 2025. But as THR points out: both Horizon: An American Legend And Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny They were at the festival last year and the reception hurt their own box office months later. (Or for a non-Cannes example, see: Joker 2.) However, Paramount is reportedly “optimistic” about the film; Cannes will open May 13-May 24, so if the film is great it can only be further strengthened by its festival reception. And if there is a flop there, the reaction from critics and audiences in America may drown out those criticisms.

But even if things get rocky, THR claims we’ll get a first look at Mission: Impossible 8, new title and all in the next few weeks.
