I Tried HelloFresh’s English Trifle Recipe by Rachel from ‘Friends’

Your favorite TV shows have plenty of Halloween and Christmas episodes, but only one series truly owns Thanksgiving — and this one is Friends. From Monica getting her head stuck in a turkey to the crew playing football before dinner, it’s hard to rank them. best Thanksgiving moments Friendsbut Rachel’s disastrous English trivia is something that has stuck with fans for years.

In Season 6, Episode 9, Jennifer Aniston’s character is given the task of making dessert for the group’s Thanksgiving dinner. Although she used to be a waiter in a cafe, cooking was never part of her skills and this “treatment” proved it. By gluing two pages of Monica’s cookbook together, Rachel combined two recipes: one for a traditional English dessert; the other for shepherd’s pie.

What’s not to like? Custard, nice. Jam, nice. Meat, good!

Rachel described it as having “all these layers.” He said: “First a layer of ladyfingers, then a layer of jam, then pudding – which I made from scratch – then raspberries, more ladyfingers, then veal sautéed with peas and onions, then more pudding, then bananas and a little cream on top.” “I applied whipped cream.”

As a fan of the series, I’ve always wondered what Rachel’s British dessert tasted like. Of course, mixing dessert with meat doesn’t sound all that appetizing, and Ross said it “tastes like feet,” but I’m more of a Joey. I love all the ingredients, in the words of Joey: “What’s not to love? Custard, nice. Jam, nice. Meat, good!”

Warner Bros.

I’ve tried junk versions of Rachel before. Warner Bros. Dessert only meal on Studio Tour In Burbank, California. But it seems no one has been brave enough to combine the two until now. HelloFresh will publish a Rachel Green’s Junk Kit So that you can cook your own meals at home. Never one to back down from a food challenge, I tried this one before public distribution so you can see if it’s worthy of Joey’s seal of approval.

An Honest Review Friends disregard

I loved every minute of making my meal at home. It was very easy to put together since all the ingredients were sent to me; Even for someone with Rachel’s cooking skills. Just follow the instructions, which luckily don’t stick together (and you can spare about three hours).

The only difficult part was cutting up all the veggies for shepherd’s pie, and you need some additional ingredients like cooking oil and butter that aren’t included. Fortunately, these are basic kitchen necessities that most people already have. For example, I don’t cook meals often—maybe three or four times a month—but I did prepare them.

When it comes to assembly, instead of having everything piled on top of each other, HelloFresh offers a special dish with one side for English dessert and the other for shepherd’s pie. Although this allows you to enjoy both separately, I tried both together to get the full taste. Friends experience and it wasn’t as bad as you thought.

Rachel Chapman

It took me a few seconds to get myself excited before diving in, but Joey was right; It wasn’t bad. The English dessert was delicious and the shepherd’s pie was full of flavour. They were surprisingly delicious together. Sure, the flavors clashed a bit, but at the end of the day, it wasn’t bad. Ross was being a little too harsh.

TL;DR: Could This Get Any More Fun for Friendship Day?

I don’t think I’ll be making myself a real Rachel Green dessert in the future, and I’d rather eat each dish on its own, but this was such a fun experience. I also ended my food dream by eating something I’ve always wanted to try from TV. Luke’s coffee Gilmore Girls IRL.

HelloFresh

If you are a Friends A fan, I highly recommend picking up Rachel Green’s Trifle Kit from HelloFresh for your Friendship Day celebrations. It was simple, fun, and provided a ton of food to share (unless you’re like Joey). I had so much food left that trifles and pies overflowed onto the plate, so you’ll have plenty to share with your best friends.

For $35 it’s worth it. You can also store the one-of-a-kind split meal and Friends apron for your other Rachel (or Monica) moments in the kitchen.
