Tennessee is targeting a 2025-caliber receiver. The person outside is Donovan Murph.

Murph is a current four-star independent wide receiver from the state of South Carolina. The talented wide receiver was reclassified from 2026 to 2025 and has been a target for the Vols and many others.

The Irmo High School athlete would leave the Top 12 school list, which includes several top programs, including the Vols.

The Vols don’t appear to be the favorites to land the four-star wide receiver. He continues to look like the frontrunner in South Carolina right now, as early signing day approaches in early December.

Tennessee will look to add a few more players to the 2025 class, which already has 24 commitments. His primary focus has been the 2026 class, but having the Vols in Murph’s top 12 could trigger something at any point.

The best pitch the Vols have for the wide receiver has already been used in 2025 when he officially visits Tennessee for the Alabama game, which features several targets.
