Brenna Bird weighs Trump endorsement and Pete Buttigieg ponders Harris pick

DES MOINES, Iowa (Gray Media Iowa State Capitol Office) – Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, a Republican, was the first state official to support Donald Trump for president.

Trump has been saying for years that the 2020 election was “rigged,” despite court rulings and government investigations proving those claims are not valid.

Bird did not say the election was rigged in an interview with Gray Media Iowa, but he said he could not say the election was safe and secure.

Bird said he believes photo ID is required to vote in Iowa elections. But he said he couldn’t say that about other states because not all of them require photo identification.

There are 35 states in the United States that require identification. According to Ballotpedia.

2020 Iowa Democratic Caucus winner Pete Buttigieg tells Gray Media Iowa that Kamala Harris will be a different president than Joe Biden.

He said he brought his own experiences to the work. Buttigieg doesn’t think Democrats are focusing too much on abortion rights this election cycle and said candidates should be able to discuss other issues that are important to voters.

National polls show that in addition to abortion being important to voters, economic issues and border security are also important.
