Jessica Simpson is celebrating seven years of sobriety.

The 44-year-old star shared a touching message on Instagram about finding “the light” after deciding to quit drinking seven years ago.

He wrote: “7 years ago today, I walked into the light of being alcohol free.”

Speaking about her previous struggles, Jessica told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I don’t even know that person.

“That person wasn’t feeling it. Now I’m in the world of feeling everything, and no matter what, even if it’s a sad feeling, I get over it quicker and I can’t hold on to it. So for me, eliminating alcohol was like eliminating fear.”

In her memoirs, she emphasized that she was risking her own life “with all the booze and pills” and that it was “easy” to make the decision to quit, even if therapy was more challenging.

“It was easy to give up alcohol,” he wrote in ‘Open Book’. “I was angry at that bottle. Angry at the way it kept me apathetic and lethargic.”

And earlier this year, she was forced to give up drinking once again after a sweet post about her son Ace.

The reality star rubbished the idea that she had broken her sobriety after revealing her and her 11-year-old son’s love of scratch card lottery tickets in a lighthearted Instagram post.

When a fan urged him to “quit drinking,” he replied: “I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself and my family.

“Thank you for your interest, but you misunderstood me very much. I send my love.”

In her original caption, Jessica described her son as the “kindest, most handsome” 11-year-old son in the world.

She wrote: “I’m going to be a boastful mom for a moment and just say that I have the kindest, most handsome 11-year-old son on the planet.

“Fun fact: we both find random lucky coins every other week and use them to win my scratchers. Mom loves you Ace Knute Johnson – OH SO MUCH!!!!!!!!”

In addition to Ace, Jessica and husband Eric Johnson also have 12-year-old Maxwell and five-year-old Birdie.
