Serial Killer Suspect Who Killed Six People in Narok Town Arrested

Homicide detectives have arrested a suspected serial killer who police say killed six people in the town of Narok in the past four months.

The suspect, Stephen Oloichoki aka Ololung’a aka Musa Sapia, was arrested in a multi-agency operation that resulted in the seizure of several mobile phones believed to be proceeds of crime.

Police pursued the suspect following an increase in reported murders in the area and forensic tracking of the suspect.

Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Amin Mohamed said investigators forensically analyzed evidence related to the murders, which led to the overall identification of a deadly serial killer. Investigators began by assessing the crime scenes in some of the reported cases and carrying out a critical analysis of CCTV footage that captured some of the events.

Incidents reported to DCI Narok North included where Linet Mmbone was robbed and injured.

The 38-year-old football player later died.

Another violent robbery was reported in which Wycliff Weiseku Nyachoka was killed.

In September 2024, Joel Maina Kweri allegedly fell into the hands of the suspect. He was robbed and brutally murdered. Onyango Omollo was the fourth victim killed in the same manner by the same suspect.

While the horrific murders shook the town of Narok, Hillary Leken was also attacked and killed during the same period. The last murder linked to the suspect was that of Moses Sanigo.

The cell phone stolen from one of the victims was a big breakthrough for investigators. Forensic data taken from the phone led to the arrest of the suspect.

It was determined that the suspect was sentenced to life imprisonment, but was released in March 2024 after serving 15 years in prison.

About a month after his release, the lone ranger was again at the center of bloody and deadly murders targeting local vendors in Narok district.

A multi-agency operation led to the arrest of three of his accomplices and police seized a number of mobile phones believed to be the proceeds of crime.

The suspect is said to have used daggers, swords and Maasai rungs to cause the painful deaths of his victims.

Police presented the suspect at the Narok Civil Courts on Thursday and he will be detained for 21 days as investigations into the six murders and other violent crimes linked to the suspect continue.
