SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – A child who was shot in Indian Orchard Thursday night is recovering from serious injuries.

Authorities responded to a SpotSpotter activation at the Racing Mart on Main Street at 8:30 p.m.

Following the shooting, a teenager was privately taken to Parker Street and then brought to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.

Details are limited at this time, but we’re told the victim is expected to be okay.
