CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Windber man died from injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident earlier this week, Cambria County officials said.

Lee Wess, 36, was pronounced dead early Thursday morning at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center after being hospitalized for several days, county coroner Jeff Lees said.

Investigators say Wess was traveling west along Mill Road in Croyle Township late Sunday afternoon when he struck a guardrail and was thrown from his motorcycle.

Emergency officials said crews were dispatched to the scene around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Wess was later transported to Conemaugh Hospital, authorities said.

Coroner Lees said Wess suffered blunt force trauma in the crash.

Investigators stated Wess was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
