(KNSI) — Prosecutors have filed criminal charges against a 25-year-old man after police say he robbed the same gas station three times in eight days.

According to criminal complaints, police were called to the Marathon Gas station in the 700 block of 9th Avenue South on the afternoon of Oct. 15 following a robbery. The cashier showed police a video of the suspect, identified in court documents as Camden Jackson, walking around the store and saying something to the cashier who was opening the register before grabbing items and jumping over the counter. Jackson took the money from the safe and left. The victim told police Jackson pointed a black, semi-automatic style handgun and said, “give me the money.” Officers received a call from someone who lived near the store who said a fake gun was found in a plastic bag under a trash can in the parking lot of a building near the store, consistent with the direction in which he fled.

On October 20, police were called to the same gas station for another robbery; This was a similar incident to the first; Jackson showed up around the same time of day, appearing to be there to buy something, but then jumped over the counter and took the money. from the logbook before fleeing the scene. After comparing video of the two robberies, police said they concluded they were committed by the same person. Police, who watched security cameras from nearby apartments, said they noticed he was wearing the same pants as the suspect in the first incident. They also watched as Jackson met with someone he later spoke to, who confirmed he was the suspect.

On October 21, police were called to the gas station again, where they spoke with a woman. The woman told investigators that the person they were looking for was her brother. Officers showed him the video and he said he was “without doubt convinced” it was his brother. He said he stole the sweatshirt Jackson was wearing in one of the robberies from his daughter.

Two days later officers were called back to Marathon for another robbery. The employee said when the suspect entered he was told he was not allowed there. Instead of leaving, Jackson jumped over the counter and acted like he had a knife in his sweatpants pocket, continuing to nudge her and motion her to move away from the register. He said Jackson took about $200 in cash from the safe and then fled the scene. This cashier is the same one Jackson is accused of pulling the gun on in the first robbery.

After watching video of the third incident, police determined that Jackson was indeed the suspect and determined that an arrest warrant was necessary “due to the nature of the crime” and because he “fled the scene” to “prevent further harm to the public.” .”

Jackson was charged Friday with first- and second-degree aggravated robbery and simple robbery. All three of these are crimes.
