The opening night of Halloween events at Esplora was exciting. As the flickering light inside the Science Center created an inviting glow, laughter and chatter filled the air, punctuated by breaths of awe, as the Maltese Magician began his captivating show.

From whimsical witches to scary monsters, costumed visitors added to the lively scene, fully embracing the Halloween spirit. It was an evening where science met magic, where everyone was fascinated and ready for the exciting experiences that awaited them!

This year, Malta’s beloved Interactive Science Center is adding a uniquely Maltese touch to the holiday with the theme: Maltese Folklore Tales. The terrible demons that have haunted our islands for centuries have been resurrected, and we’ve made sure they stay in the shadows for this spooky weekend!

Spooky Highlights Awaiting You include:

• We meet Maltese Magician Saħħar Falzun: Witness the exciting spectacle as our local wizard battles the Inquisition using the wonders of science. Perfect for ages 6 and up, get ready for jaw-dropping experiments that will leave you breathless as you see color-changing potion bubbles and explosive gas reactions unfold before your eyes!!
• Encountering Valletta’s Vampire: Follow the chilling quest of the Valletta vampire as he searches for a source of fresh blood. Do you dare to join Valletta’s vampire for dinner? This hands-on workshop will test your mettle as you delve into the darker side of folklore. Suitable for age group 6+.
• Ċensa l-Mewt: Step into the land of Malta’s Angel of Death in this hands-on workshop. Meet Ċensa l-Mewt and hear her terrifying stories as she bravely touches the terrifying “organs” of her unfortunate victims. Ages 6+ are accepted.
• Il-Mostru tal-Esplora: Little ones aged 3-6 can discover the chilling legend of the monster hiding under Esplora. Let their imaginations run wild as they create their own version of this ancient beast after hearing its fascinating story.
