Texans player Will Anderson leaves the field after injury scare

The Houston Texans hit the road in the middle of their Thursday Night Football matchup with the New York Jets. The game was tied with just a few minutes left in the first quarter; but the Texans suffered a concerning injury to star linebacker Will Anderson Jr.

Anderson suffered an apparent lower-body injury in the first quarter and went directly to the blue medical tent, according to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson. I hope his injury is not too serious and he can return to the field safely.

On the season, Anderson collected 20 solo tackles and 7.5 sacks; the latter of which ranks him third in the NFL. He became an integral part of the Texans’ defense.

Fortunately, Will Anderson Jr. has strong support if his injury persists. Henry To’oTo’o leads the team with 46 total points. Meanwhile, Calen Bullock also leads Houston in interceptions (3).

The Texans entered Thursday night’s game against the Jets with a 6-2 record compared to New York’s 2-6 record. Still, Houston needs to remain vigilant.

Jets make a series of roster moves Thursday to strengthen themselves. New York is without the services of Allen Lazard but still has veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers at the helm. Houston will do everything they can to slow down Rodgers and a hungry Jets defense.
