Top 5 Parties Watching the 2024 US Presidential Elections in London

HalloweenDone, now it’s time for the truly scary stuff. The future of one of the world’s most powerful countries hangs in the balance as Kamala Harris and Donald Trump battle to be elected the 47th President of the United States next week. And it’s too close to call right now.

No matter who has your support, there’s only one right way to watch these states turn red or blue (or independence, who knows what will happen). That’s right, we’re talking about an all-night election night.

There may be a whole ocean between us and the mighty USA, but that’s not stopping Londoners fueling up on bourbon for a spectacular presidential election party. Here are the five best places to go on the night of November 4/5.

Three Crowns, Stoke Newington

Spacious Victorian boozer Three Crowns hosts many late-night parties in its basement club, The Waiting Room, but will stay open later than usual for this free screening. It promises plenty of drinks and snacks to keep you going until closing time at 5am. You don’t need to buy a ticket for this, just come and sit.

175 Stoke Newington High St, N16 0PE. 22.00-5.00. Free.

American Bar in Stafford

One of the longest-running American bars in London, this stylish cocktail bar at St James’s Hotel The Stafford is undoubtedly one of the most decadent places to celebrate/smother your election night sorrows. The menu has plenty of classic American drinks, including seven types of old fashioned if you really want to lean into the whole Don Draper vibe of the place. You don’t need a ticket, but advance booking is recommended and there is a minimum spend.

16-18 St James’s Pl, SW1A 1NJ. 23:00-late. Spending £30 per person.

Lexington

Islington indie haven Lexington will host the big-screen broadcast with free entry across two floors (CNN upstairs, BBC downstairs) and we quote: ‘The best selection of American Bourbon and beer you’ll find this side of the Atlantic’. A bold claim, to be sure, but alongside cans of Brooklyn Lager, Sierra Nevada, Goose Island and Oskar Blues, this is the only London bar we know of that has PBR on tap. It’s definitely time to get star-studded.

96-98 Pentonville Rd, N1 9JB. 23:00-5:00. Free

feed the yak

This Elephant and Castle sports bar and bottle shop is usually packed with rowdy football fans, but this one is switching things up on election night and has constant broadcasts from both CNN and Fox until 5 a.m. There’ll be plenty of antics to keep you entertained when you’re not glued to screens, including a real-life beauty pageant, a MAGA hat redesign contest, and a US-themed pub quiz (or ‘pub trivia’ we guess) featuring a quick game of True American’s, US’ The drinking game invented in the sitcom ‘New Girl’. Pale beers will be on tap thanks to the tap takeover at Sierra Nevada.

2 Sayer St, SE17 1FG. 23:00-5:00. Free.

Social

Sanctuary at The Social’s all-night party in Fitzrovia is a marathon ten-hour session from 8pm on Tuesday evening. The party will span two floors and feature plenty of American beer and cocktails. There will be uninterrupted big screen broadcasting in the basement, while Third Man Records DJs will appear on subtitled screens upstairs. Tickets are available from Dice and cost £6.

5 Little Portland Street, W1W 7JD. 20.00-6.00. £6.
