Ex-Lendlease chief to lead Euston housing regeneration

Seeley, who has overseen major projects in London, Birmingham and Manchester, will chair the Euston Housing Delivery Group, which will drive the regeneration of the area.

The Delivery Group will consist of industry experts in urban design, landscape architecture, affordable housing delivery and financing of large-scale projects.

Their main focus is to unlock more investment in Euston and stimulate economic growth in the capital.

Housing and Planning Minister Matthew Pennycook said: “The appointment of Bek Seeley as chairman of the Euston Housing Delivery Group is a significant milestone in the journey to regenerate this historic neighborhood of London and support economic growth across the country.

“The Government will continue to work with London Borough of Camden, the Mayor of London and local partners and communities to accelerate the delivery of a multitude of new homes and a much improved Euston Station, as well as an expanded Knowledge Quarter.”

The announcement also comes as it was confirmed that HS2 trains will run to Euston and that private investment in the station and local area will be accelerated, with funding provided to tunnel into the central London terminus.

The Delivery Group’s work begins immediately in Euston.

Seeley said: “I am thrilled to be asked to chair EHDG as it embarks on a mission to deliver thousands of new homes to benefit the existing community while supporting growth in one of the world’s leading knowledge and life science regions.

“My aim is for Euston to provide safe and welcoming homes, ensuring every resident feels safe and valued, and for Euston to also be a place the UK can be proud of on the world stage and drive our wider economy forward.”
