LOS ANGELES– This week on “General Hospital” we are watching a story that fans are afraid of. The Sam McCall character, which Kelly Monaco has played for over 20 years, is on a plateau.

Yes, Sam is gone.

She was part of some heartbreaking farewells, including to her fiancé, actor Dominic Zamprogna, who played Dante. He told us about this parting shot close to home.

“We are family. I will miss him,” Zamprogna said. “We’ve become close, we’ve been through a lot. The truth is, nothing lasts forever. That’s just the way it is. We’re actors, not doctors or lawyers or teachers. But whenever you lose a family member, it’s hard.”

The final scenes of Zamprogna and Monaco will air on Friday, November 1.
